Ex-Scottish Premier Goalkeeper

About ten years ago I met (at that time)a current Scottish Premier goalkeeper.  I can't remember his name.  I don't even remember which club he played for.  Are there any archives of the Scottish Premier so I can try to look him up?  thanks for any help.

The first SPL games took place on the 1st August 1998.

Does the name Andy Goram ring any bells? Lionel Charbonnier? Henry Smith? Bryan Gunn? Gordon Marshall? Ian Westwater? Lee Butler? Stewart Kerr? Alan Main? Derek Stillie? Jim Leighton? Gilles Rousset? Rab Douglas?

It might help if you remember which City you were in when you met said 'keeper?

I thought this might help:

but it just gives the team's clean sheets, not the 'keepers who kept them!

But the top flight was called the Premier Division from the 1970s, so a quot;Scottish Premierquot; keeper could easily have played there before 1998.
98, memory seems to be playing tricks on me, thought it was much earlier the SPL was formed.
...,10002,00.html57, the divisions were re-entitled #8220;One#8221; and #8220;Two#8221;.  However, season 1975/76 saw re-organisation with the League undergoing major structural change, with the introduction of three Divisions of 10, 14 and 14 and re-named the Premier, First and Second Divisions respectively.  There followed a period of change in formats to 12:12:14 in seasons 1986/87 and 1987/88, 10:14:14 from season 1988/89 to season 1990/91, then 12:12:14 from season 1991/92 to season 1993/94, with much of it being politically motivated.quot;

Ally Maxwell?
That's amazing.  It was Ally.  How could you have pulled that out of thin air like that?  Thanks a lot.
I'm just that good

He sprung to mind because I knew he'd done his licenses as he later took up management at Morton. You mentioned he was ex-Rangers; Maxwell was ex-Rangers. He was back-up for most of his career but did play a good many first team games for them, Dundee United and Morton.

He played on in the 91 cup final into extra time with broken ribs.  A brilliant display of bravery.
Cracker of a game too. Tommy Mclean's Motherwell beat Jim McLean's Dundee United 4-3.
